Snowball Britain as temperatures reach record lows
I’m sure you must have heard of the Snowball Earth hypothesis, when for millions of years, the Earth was almost completed covered by glaciers that reached as far as the equator.
Well, I know that sounds a bit dramatic, but with the incessant snow we’ve been having recently, it surely feels like we’re turning into a Snowball Britain. Just look at some of the recent images from around the country.
And now we’re being told to expect even more snow in the next few days with temperatures perhaps reaching as low as -20C (that’s -4F) in parts of the country.
But didn’t they announce just last month that 2010 was on course to be the second hottest year since records began in 1880 or something? Well, it certainly doesn’t feel like it!
